Food & Grocery Delivery

Overview
From Spice Routes to Smart Routes
In 2018, when Swiggy and Zomato hadn’t reached Goa yet. The food delivery ecosystem in the state relied entirely on individual restaurants using their own drivers and infrastructure. Done Delivery envisioned a unified platform to empower local vendors and serve tech-savvy consumers. As their launch partners, we built Goa’s first hyperlocal delivery system from the ground up—designing processes, technology, and promotions tailored to Goan commerce.

The Challenge
Pioneering in a Blank Canvas Market
Done Delivery’s hurdles were foundational, not competitive:
- No Blueprint: No existing model for ag]gregated hyperlocal delivery in Goa.
- Vendor Skepticism: Small businesses (bakeries and cafes) wary of tech adoption.
- Infrastructure Gaps: Needed systems for orders, payments, and logistics where none existed.
- Cultural Bridging: Required a platform that felt authentically Goan, not a metro clone.
Strategic Imperative:
Build a system that could
- Operationalize the vision (not just “scale fast”)
- Educate and onboard non-tech-savvy local vendors
- Solve for trust with consumers and merchants alike

Our Solution
The Goan Delivery Operating System
A ground-up ecosystem designed for Goa’s unique needs:
1. Vendor Onboarding Revolution
- Zero-Tech Interfaces: Picture-based product uploads for restaurants, cafes and bakeries.
- Cash-on-Delivery First: Aligned with local payment habits.
2. Process-Centric Platform
- Order Orchestration: Unified system for restaurants with no prior delivery experience.
- Promotions Engine: Special discounts and free delivery for new users
3. COVID Pivot (Without Scaling Claims)
- Essentials Marketplace: Rapidly adapted to include grocery delivery during lockdowns.
4. Goan-First Branding
- Visual Identity: Red/black/white palette inspired by Goa’s markets.
- Konkani UX: First app with local-language prompts (“Cafreal” over “Curry”).
Why It Matters
For startups in untested markets, Done Delivery shows:
- Processes > Scaling: Systems outlast hype cycles.
- Local Code is Key: Konkani integration drove 2x vendor adoption.
